The Journey of 29 Interviews: From Fresher to Experienced Professional

As a professional in the IT sector, my journey is marked by countless interview experiences. From freshers to seasoned professionals, I have navigated a complex and often challenging landscape. Here is a detailed account of my interview experiences.

From Fresher to Experienced Candidate

My interview journey began in 2012 during my third year at college. TCS came to our campus for placements, and this was my very first interview process. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Since then, I've participated in 23 interview processes as a fresher, of which I cleared 3. In later years, as an experienced candidate, I attended 6 interviews and successfully cleared 4 of them. This journey reflects the challenges and persistence required to navigate the competitive job market.

A Snapshot of My Journey

2012: After completing my third year of college, TCS came for on-campus placements. Despite my enthusiasm, I didn't make it. College placed some hope in campus placements, but other smaller organizations visited, and I felt like something was amiss.

2013: By my fourth year, the placement cell was not optimistic, so my focus shifted to finding a job outside the campus. I explored every IT sector that came my way. From BPO and KPO to startups with up to 150 employees, and organizations that promised no salary for the first six months, I visited them all. Some offers didn't meet my expectations, and I turned down a few due to reservations about their authenticity. Others offered me terms and conditions that were unacceptable, so I declined them.

The Turning Point

It was during my 23rd off-campus placement, in 2017, where I found my breakthrough. I participated in an AMCAT placement at Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd, and this marked the beginning of my IT career. After spending 3.5 years at Accenture, I started looking for a new career opportunity in the market. In the last six months prior to my time at Accenture, I attended another 6 interviews and successfully cleared 4 of them. This latest experience has given me valuable insights into the current job market and helped me refine my approach to interviews.

Lessons Learned

Patience and perseverance are key in the job seeking process. It's important to evaluate the terms and conditions before accepting any job offer. Preparation and research are vital to perform well in interviews. A positive attitude and a proactive approach can yield better results.

My journey of 29 interviews has been a profound learning experience. Each interview has given me insight into the job market, the industry, and my own capabilities. It's a testament to the challenges and the rewards that come with persistence and dedication.

Continuing my journey, I hope to find opportunities that not only align with my career goals but also offer a fulfilling work environment.
