So, when i was berojgar (unemployed), I used to go to every school to give my resume there. One fine day, I went to an international school as there were interviews going on. I handed over my CV to the receptionist and she told me to wait over the couch. There were almost 10–12 people who were there for interviews. I just waited and waited!

After almost 2 hours, the receptionist came to me and said, 'Mam, you may go now. As our school has no vacancy for maths and science teacher right now, so we’ll call you whenever needed!' I felt shattered. I was like, what is this nonsense! I mean I waited here to 2-2.5 hrs and now they’re saying that you may leave very casually! Maine mere mosa ji ko btayaa call pe ki ye aise bol rhe hai toh unhone khaa ki koi tigdam ldao aise nhi chlega!! Maine bhi mann me thaan liya ab toh yhii job leke ruhungi.

I said to that girl, 'Mam, with due respect, I am not going anywhere. Please tell the principal sir that I’m sitting here and I want to meet him once. Even if you don’t have any vacancy of my type that’s perfectly fine, I just want to meet him.' She was like, 'Mam, it’s of no use. Please go and save your time.' But I refused. She was convincing me to leave, and I was convincing her to arrange a meeting with the principal sir and the management team.

Suddenly, a person from the management team came outside and asked what was going on between us. That receptionist explained everything to him, and he said, 'People use to run away from sitting in an interview, but you are different. I think' and smiled. He told me to wait over the couch.

After sometime, that receptionist came to me and said, 'Aditi mam, principal sir is calling you.' I went inside, and a healthy interview session was conducted between me and 4-5 management members from that school. They seemed quite impressed.

Then came the final discussion part where he said, 'Aditi mam, see there’s no vacancy for maths and science teacher in our school currently, but I’m creating a vacancy for you because I really want you at any cost in my team!' Could you please join as an English faculty as of now and after one month, I’ll give you maths and science lectures for sure! That’s my promise.. I really appreciate your zeal!! Apki jagah koi aur hota kabhuka uthke jaa chuka hota.. M really impressed..'

That was the day when I learnt that if we are determined enough, we can really shuffle the situations accordingly. I was quite happy that I made a choice of not giving up, and it turned out to be fruitful. Though itna sb krne k bad bhi, maine vo school join nhi kiya tha. I joined another school whose picture is attached over here but I learnt a beautiful lesson that day—lesson for not quitting! Lesson for always being strongly determined.
