Why Women Shouldnt Be Forced to Wear Hijab for Mens Sexuality
Why Women Shouldn't Be Forced to Wear Hijab for Men's Sexuality
This statement is at the same time horrendously misogynistic, gynocentral and misandric, disturbingly homophobic, and absolutely unscientific. Let me tell you why:
Misogynistic
Misogyny is the belief that women are inherently subordinate to men, or that the female sex is inferior to the male. In reducing women to merely sexual objects, it is a form of objectification. Women do not need to cover themselves from head to toe in order to control the sexual impulses of men. By typical logic, it is the responsibility of men to control their own sexual urges and behave accordingly. When one imposes the responsibility of regulating men's behavior on women, it is a form of gross sexism.
Misandric
Misandry refers to the hatred or dislike of men. It presents the notion of all men as nothing but sexual monsters, perverts, and beasts, incapable of imagining anything outside of sexual fantasies involving women. This is an unacceptable generalization that undermines men's dignity and individuality, highlighting a dangerous misandric perspective. These harmful generalizations only serve to further engrain harmful stereotypes and contribute to a toxic environment.
Homophobic
Homophobia is the fear or dislike of homosexuality, which results in discrimination against homosexual people. This statement is disturbingly homophobic because it denies the existence of people with same-sex attraction. It implies that the same standard of sexual conduct should be applied to all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. If a Muslim religious fanatic suggests women should cover up because men gaze at them with lust, it implies the same standard should apply to men looking at other men with lust. This premise automatically raises the question of whether men themselves should be required to cover up, similar to the stance taken by women. Homophobia, like misogyny and misandry, perpetuates discrimination and destroys the true and complex sexual dynamics in society.
Unscientific
The idea that women should wear hijab to control men's sexuality is completely unscientific. Sexuality is a normal phenomenon not unique to humans but shared across many mammalian species. There is an entire discipline of biological science dedicated to the study of sexual behavior, including that of humans. The concept of a moral obligation to control human sexuality through such measures is baseless and outdated. Nowadays, it is widely accepted that love making is a natural human behavior, and there is no moral sin in having sexual relationships as long as boundaries and consent are respected. It is essential to establish these scientific and ethical truths to combat such misguided and harmful beliefs.
Sexuality is a natural and complex aspect of human life. It involves much more than just physical attraction and the act of sex. Sexual health, relationships, and sexuality itself are topics that require understanding, respect, and scientific inquiry rather than religious or cultural dogma.
